PSP Course at DLR Germany

Pressure sensitive paint is an optical method to obtain the pressure on an object surface without instrumenting the object. The surface is coated with a paint containing luminophore molecules(florescent or phosphorescent) and illuminated with light source emitting light of of sufficient short wavelength to excite the luminophore.

Dear Sir or Madam,
please find attached the announcement of the third PSP course to be held in Goettingen, Germany, from 7th to 11th of September 2009, organized by DLR in cooperation with Tohoku University, University of Hohenheim, ONERA, BAE Systems, and National Research Council Canada.

The Pressure Sensitive Paint (PSP) technique is a non-intrusive optical pressure measurement technique, that provides spatial pressure distributions on surfaces of e.g. wind tunnel models. It is an excellent tool for observation of spatial structures and/or rapid temporal or spatial changes of aerodynamic phenomena.

This course will mainly concentrate on both industrial measurement techniques as well as aspects of the theory of PSP relevant to applications with special emphasis on unsteady PSP. In addition to the lectures, participants will have the opportunity to carry out experiments by themselves during practical sessions on the course.

There are still a few places available. Further information about the course can be obtained from our Web pages http://pspcourse.dlr.de, on which also online application can be done, or from
